Hey y'all it’s me, Ashanta, for those newer
to my newsletter/blog posts/business, I am the creator & owner behind Entclés. For those that are new to the Entclés newsletter or social media account I wanted to give you a human behind the brand.
I’m a working, on-location set makeup artist and hairstylist (I know it’s rare, but yes, I do both), currently working out of Los Angeles, Ca. I’ve been at it in LA for over 10yrs …my instagram artistry page is @ashantaartistry. You’ll see lots of hair and makeup posts and me goofing around and playing pranks and on the good days, you’ll be invited into my kitchen to make medicinal teas, milks, hair and facial treatments and whatever other weird thing I decide to record and put a song (and sometimes parody voiceover) to.
I created Entclés during the pandemic with the encouragement of a close friend. Their belief in me was the push I needed to turn a dream into a reality. That experience taught me to never underestimate the power of support. Words and the lack thereof matter and can make the biggest difference in someone’s life. I’d like to think Entclés can also be that push for others. With the coming success of Entclés the plan is to give back to the community. Targeting the underserved and underprivileged communities with the focus being on the youth. Through internships, apprenticeships and scholarships that focus on the arts in any media, Entclés would like to be the encouragement needed to take ideas out of the mind and into action. I envision our programs taking away fear of failure and making it cool to try.
On a personal note, I’m in a relationship with traveling. It’s the healthiest relationship I’ve ever been in… we are fully committed and I’ll never get enough. My latest trip was to Oaxaca, Mexico. If you haven’t been, 10/10 highly recommend! Apart from speaking Spanish, which I speak rather fluently, the Oaxacans speak a language of artisanal, handcrafted, small batched, innovative and authentically free artistry that Los Angeles WISHES it could appropriate. I felt thoroughly inspired there and can’t wait to share with everyone what is in store for Entclés in the months to come.
I am 1/2 African American 1/2 Jamaican, 100% human. A believer of God ,creation, setting intentions and everyone’s right to choose their own path.
My friends are my family.
Loyalty, honesty, kindness and patience are core values for me & what set my alignment. These values are part of my business model as well. You can expect fairness and transparency with any business transaction.
I think I’m odd, awkward and nerdy but I also think Im kinda cool ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
That’s it for now. If you’ve read this far, thank you, I appreciate you. 🙏🏾. If you have any other questions put it in the comments and be sure to follow Entclés on instagram. You’ll probably find your answer in one of our stories.
